N Norway, June 2010

Roadside habitat in the N Norway wilderness.

 

Local in N Norway. It is probably a subspecies of the Woodland Ringlet, Erebia medusa, but extreme geographical isolation has lead to a certain differentiation in markings which probably justify at least subspecies status.
